Dan arrives at Jaekyung’s house in this chapter and senses that something is wrong as soon as the door opens. Jaekyung is in a heavier mood than normal, and the room feels smaller because of the edge in his quiet. Unspoken concerns, unreadable facial expressions, and a feeling that both men are hiding the true cause of their discomfort all contribute to the tension between them as Dan begins the treatment. They move more slowly and cautiously during the session, as if they are both waiting for something they are unable to identify. By the end, their silence is more audible than any disagreement, suggesting that something is gradually changing beneath the surface.
